Founder & Managing Director

Radj founded RM Design & Engineering in 2012 with a clear belief: great engineering isn’t defined by machine capacity — it’s defined by partnership.

With decades of experience in thermoforming, tooling and advanced manufacturing, Radj works closely with customers to understand the real world challenges behind every project. He brings a blend of technical insight, practical problem solving and a commitment to doing things properly, ensuring every job is engineered with care, clarity and confidence.

His leadership sets the tone for RMDE: honest communication, thoughtful engineering and a determination to deliver solutions that genuinely support customer success.

Edgar Martin

Production Manager

Ed oversees production from planning through to dispatch, ensuring every project meets the accuracy, quality and delivery standards RMDE is known for.

With a calm, methodical approach, Ed brings structure and consistency to the workshop. He ensures the right processes are followed, the right checks are completed and every component leaves the facility exactly as intended. His attention to detail and steady leadership keep production flowing smoothly, even when schedules are tight or projects are technically demanding.

Sarah-Jane Ford

Office Manager

Sarah-Jane RM Design & Engineering running with clarity, consistency and a strong focus on quality.

She oversees customer communication, ISO 9001 quality assurance, contractor compliance, maintenance administration, health & safety processes and the core office systems that support every project behind the scenes. Alongside this, she designs and develops digital tools, workflows and internal systems that improve efficiency, strengthen compliance and support RMDE’s continuous improvement culture.

Her work ensures documentation is accurate, processes stay controlled and standards are met without compromise — giving customers confidence in RMDE’s reliability.

CAD Team

Engineering the Solution

Every successful component, tool and fixture starts long before it reaches the shop floor. It starts with a well-engineered solution.

Our CAD Team turns customer requirements, concepts and manufacturing challenges into practical, production-ready designs. Their role goes far beyond creating 3D models. They consider how every part will be manufactured, assembled, inspected and used, ensuring the design works in the real world as well as it does on screen.

Working closely with our machinists, production team and customers, the CAD Team combines engineering knowledge with hands-on manufacturing insight. This collaboration helps us identify challenges early, refine designs efficiently and develop solutions that are both technically sound and practical to manufacture.

From one-off components and precision tooling to complex fixtures and complete assemblies, they take ideas from initial concept through to detailed engineering and manufacture.

Their work is where an idea becomes a solution, and where every successful project begins.

CAM Team

Turning Design into Precision

Once a design is engineered, the next challenge is turning it into a precise, repeatable manufacturing process. That is where our CAM Team takes over.

Our CAM Team transforms approved CAD models and drawings into carefully planned machining strategies, creating the programs and processes that bring each component to life. Every toolpath is developed with precision, efficiency and quality in mind.

Working closely with both the CAD Team and our machinists, they consider tooling, workholding, machine capability, material behaviour and machining sequence before production begins. This joined-up approach helps identify potential challenges early, reduce unnecessary machining time and ensure every operation is practical on the shop floor.

From complex multi-axis components and intricate profiles to precision tooling and repeat production, the CAM Team combines advanced programming technology with real manufacturing experience to get the best from our machines.

They are the vital link between engineering and manufacture, turning digital designs into intelligent machining strategies ready for the shop floor.

Preparation Team

Making Success Possible

Every successful project relies on preparation.

Our Preparation Team ensures materials, tooling, fixtures, workholding, and machining setups are fully prepared before production begins.

Their attention to detail helps eliminate delays, improve efficiency, and maintain the smooth flow of work throughout the facility.

Although much of their work happens behind the scenes, their contribution is visible in every successful delivery.

Transport Team

Delivering the Final Mile

Precision engineering does not end when a component leaves the machine. Getting finished work to our customers safely, securely and on time is just as important.

Our Transport Team provides the vital link between our facility and our customers, ensuring finished components, tooling and assemblies arrive where they need to be, when they need to be there.

Working closely with production, inspection and the wider team, they coordinate collections and deliveries around demanding manufacturing schedules. From carefully handling precision-engineered components to transporting larger tooling and assemblies, every load is treated with the same care and attention that went into manufacturing it.

But their role goes beyond driving. As one of the final points of contact in our process, the Transport Team represents RM Design & Engineering out on the road, building relationships with customers and helping keep projects moving.

They complete the journey from our shop floor to the customer, delivering not just our work, but the service and reliability behind it.
